What to Wear While Golfing at Grupo Mayan Resorts
Golf is a unique sport in many ways, one of them being the special attire that people wear while playing. Most sports just require some sweats, spandex, or anything that simply won’t cause you to overheat. Golf, however, calls for somewhat more sophisticated attire. Here’s some info on golfing attire so that you can look your best at Grupo Mayan Resorts golf courses!
A collared shirt is the first place to start. Generally speaking, men should wear collared shirts while playing golf, a concept created to keep men from wearing T-shirts or tank tops on the course. Collared shirts aren’t necessarily a requirement for women, but they do provide a cute solution to the common question women face everyday: what do I wear?!
Golfing attire is pretty conservative so things like belly shirts, low cut tanks, and anything else that would belong in that category should be avoided. Sleeveless shirts, though, are fine for women as long as they are modest. Keeping away from big logos, designs, and patterns is a good idea as they can distract other players. Khakis, longer shorts, and capris are all fine.
Some golf courses are more casual, while others require all the proper golfing attire, so like people say, you’re better safe than sorry! Men should stick to collared shirts, but both short and long sleeves are acceptable. Some courses require men to wear pants, but shorts are acceptable at many places so calling ahead to check is a good idea. If pants are your only option, find some that are breathable and lightweight so you don’t get too hot golfing at one of the many Grupo Mayan Resort locations, all found in tropical (and usually pretty warm) climates!
Let’s not forget footwear! Golf shoes come with or without spikes, and some courses have rules against the spiked versions as they can tear up the green. Whichever you prefer, comfort is key. Golf is a walking game, although you do often have the option of taking a cart, but make sure you are prepared to walk for a few solid hours in whatever you choose to wear on your feet.
A visor is a must if you want to protect yourself from the sun and keep the rays out of your eyes while trying to swing. Also, gloves are a good idea as they provide a better grip and protect you from blisters. Grupo Mayan Resorts want you to enjoy your golfing experience as much as possible, so remember to keep comfort in mind at all times!
