Jack Nicklaus is not only a golf course designer. Our Grupo Mayan golf pros consider him a golf legend. Born in 1940, Jack Nicklaus is a native of Ohio.  He first picked up a golf club at the age of ten and two years later he began playing league golf in his age category.  Many people who knew him at that age, friends, family members, and other golfers, say Jack Nicklaus was born a golfer. The game of golf came naturally to him, like piano might to a musical genius.  By the Jack Nicklaus was in his early twenties he was a professional golfer.

Jack Nicklaus spent over forty years on the professional golf circuit.  During this time he won an amazing number of matches.  The Grupo Mayan pros say that Jack Nicklaus won 113 world tournaments during his professional golfing career.  All together, the winnings from his tournament victories total over eight million dollars.  Jack Nicklaus became a “hall of famer” in 1974 when he became a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Jack Nicklaus is a dedicated family man, say the Grupo Mayan pros.  He is married, to Barbara, and has five lovely children.  His family frequently cheered him on during his many tournaments, and he always thanked them for their support.  He is now the proud grandfather of over 15 grandchildren.

Jack Nicklaus has turned his love of golf into a growing business. He has a golf clothing company and a line of golf equipment. He is a world known golf course designer and several Grupo Mayan golf courses are designed by him.  He also designed the famous golf course that is home to the Master´s tournament each year.

Jack Nicklaus has, say the Grupo Mayan golf pros, used his fame and golf expertise to help many people. He has a great love of children and has founded a Children´s Hospital. He hosts many golf tournaments and charity events to raise money for children´s charities.

Jack Nicklaus has come a long way from the ten year old that first held a golf club. He has made a great golfing career for himself and once retired, turned his golf knowledge and skill toward business and helping others.  Jack Nicklaus is one of the most well known and well respected golfers of his time.
